The road to a healthy lifestyle: intimate hygiene under scrutiny
Exercise and eating right are the keys to a healthy lifestyle, we all know that.
But we often forget about another factor, which is intimate hygiene.
This time we bring you inspiration on how to take care of your intimacy properly and we also discuss situations when you need to pay EXTRA attention to your private parts.

Vulva vs vagina: Do you know the difference?
Before we dive into the world of intimate hygiene, let’s clarify the basic terms: “vulva” and “vagina”. These names are often confused, even though they are very important and we should know them. This will not only give us a better understanding of how our body works, but also allow us to take proper care of these important parts. So what is the difference between them?
- The vulva is visible at a glance. It is the external part of the genitals, which includes the labia majora and minora, the clitoris and the vaginal vestibule.
- The vagina, on the other hand, is hidden inside and plays an important role during sex, childbirth and menstruation.
How to properly care for your vulva
When it comes to intimate hygiene, we always focus on the outer part, the vulva. But beware, excessive care can harm it. Just wash it once a day and use a special intimate gel for women. On the other hand, we do not wash the inner part, i.e. the vagina, as it has its own microflora and cleaning mechanisms that could be disturbed. That is why the golden rule applies: NO RINSES!

Beware of sex, sports and bathing
Sometimes intimate care is underestimated in risky situations such as sex, sports and swimming in the pool. Yet these very activities can significantly disturb the pH of the vagina and cause vaginal infections such as yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis and others. So, to avoid unpleasantness such as itching, burning and vaginal discharge, create a simple intimate care ritual and follow it whenever there is a risk. Here are some tips:
• Shower: First and foremost, take a shower after every sporting activity and sex. Always use a gentle intimate gel that respects the pH of the intimate area.
• Pee: Don’t forget to pee too. This will flush out the urethra, where bacteria and yeast can build up, and reduce the risk of mycosis or other infections.
• Clean underwear: Always also replace used underwear that may be sweaty or otherwise soiled with clean underwear.
• Dry swimwear: If you like to swim, be sure to exchange wet swimwear for dry swimwear.
Did you know you can prevent vaginal infections with probiotics?
Finally, we have one special tip that you will appreciate when the infection returns. Whether it comes back two, three or even five times a year. In this case, include GYNELLA Flora vaginal probiotics in your ritual. These easy-to-dissolve suppositories contain lactobacilli, which we all know as friendly bacteria that not only promote a healthy pH but also actively prevent infection. So be sure to include them in your routine along with the other tips. Trust that if you adopt these rules, you will be rewarded not only with better intimate health, but also with overall comfort and satisfaction.
